Thermal mapping and validation studies are specialized NIST-traceable profiling services performed with calibrated data loggers; studies are conducted outside ACS Calibration’s ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration scope.
Beyond the Single Sensor
Chambers, warehouses, cold rooms, and ovens are controlled from one sensor but used everywhere else — and gradients, dead zones, and door effects mean the corners live a different life than the controller reports. Mapping studies place calibrated data loggers at agreed locations to document temperature differences, identify hot and cold spots, and evaluate the recorded temperatures against agreed acceptance criteria.
Our mapping and validation studies use data loggers with NIST-traceable calibrations. The study plan can include empty or loaded conditions, door-opening tests, and recovery measurements, as agreed with the customer. The report documents the results and identifies monitoring locations where included in the study. Specific equipment studies: ovens, incubators, refrigerators, walk-in coolers, and walk-in freezers.
