The Classic Recorder, Kept Honest
Hygrothermographs — the classic drum recorders with temperature and humidity pens — still serve archives, museums, and storage facilities where a walk-up visual record has value. Hair-element humidity sensing and bimetal temperature elements both age, and pen linkage wear adds its own creative errors to the trace.
We calibrate hygrothermographs against reference standards — temperature under our accredited capability, humidity — with as-found and as-left data for both pens. Facilities modernizing to data loggers can validate the replacements against the same standards.
