Liquid-in-Glass Thermometer Calibration Services

A century-old design that still anchors labs — when its column and scale are verified.

ACS Calibration delivers NIST-traceable, audit-ready liquid-in-glass thermometer calibration, available at the ACS central lab or directly on-site at facilities across the Southeast. Temperature from -196 °C to 420 °C, infrared to 500 °C, and humidity from 30 to 75 %RH are on our accredited scope, so ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificates are available on request.

Temperature & Humidity Instruments We Calibrate

From cryogenic checks to furnace controllers — if it reads degrees or percent RH, we can almost certainly handle it.

Frequently serviced brands: Traceable (Control Company), Gemini Tinytag, T&D, MadgeTech, Fluke, ThermoWorks, LogTag, and ThermoPro — plus dozens more.

Accredited Temperature & Humidity Capability

These ranges appear on our PJLA scope of accreditation — verify it independently anytime. Thermocouple indication and control equipment (Types K, J, and T) is additionally covered from -200 °C to 1,370 °C. Instruments outside these ranges receive NIST-traceable calibration.

Why It Matters

Old Technology, Current Requirements

Liquid-in-glass thermometers survive in modern labs for good reason: no batteries, no drift electronics, and many ASTM and compendial methods still specify them by name. But glass has its own failure modes — column separation from shipping shock, bulb strain that shifts the ice point, scale errors that were born at the factory and never caught.

We calibrate liquid-in-glass thermometers by comparison in stirred baths under our accredited capability, at the immersion depth the design calls for (partial or total), with as-found data documented per point. Mercury and spirit-filled units are both covered.

Labs transitioning away from mercury can verify replacements against the same standards: digital thermometers and logging thermometers calibrate alongside, and the full thermometer family shares one cycle.

Deliverables

What You Get With Every Calibration

  • NIST-traceable calibration certificate with real measurement data — not just a pass/fail sticker
  • As-found and as-left readings, so drift is documented
  • ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificate with reported uncertainty — on request
  • Calibration label with due date, plus a reminder before your next calibration is due
The ACS Difference

Why Companies Choose ACS for Liquid-in-Glass Thermometer Calibration

NIST-Traceable, Accredited on Request

Every calibration is NIST-traceable with real measurement data. Temperature (-196 to 420 °C), infrared (35–500 °C), and humidity (30–75 %RH) are on our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited scope — accredited certificates available whenever your quality system requires them.

4–6 Business Day Typical Turnaround

Keep production moving. Most instruments are typically completed in 4 to 6 business days from arrival, with rush options available when a line is down.

Flexible Logistics

Mail your instruments in, or schedule onsite calibration and we come to your floor — serving Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, and beyond.

How It Works

Calibration Without the Hassle

1. Ship It or Schedule Us

Send your instrument to our Dothan, AL laboratory — or book onsite service and we come to your facility.

2. NIST-Traceable Calibration

ASQ Certified Technicians calibrate your instrument against NIST-traceable reference standards — in our lab or at your facility.

3. Audit-Ready Certificate

Your instrument returns with a NIST-traceable certificate documenting as-found and as-left data. ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificates available on request.
