An electronic scale’s confidence is its weakness: the display shows crisp, stable digits no matter what the strain gauge underneath is actually doing. Load cells creep under sustained load, zero drifts with temperature, and overload events leave permanent offsets — none of which the display will ever confess to.
Calibration is the confession: certified test weights across the range, corner-load and repeatability checks, as-found and as-left data that shows exactly what the electronics were hiding. Accredited certificates when the range is on our current PJLA scope, and non-accredited NIST-traceable calibration for larger scales.
If a cell has drifted beyond adjustment, we calibrate load cells directly too — and the rest of the fleet, from benchtop to platform scales, rides the same cycle in-lab or onsite.
