Ruler & Steel Rule Calibration Services

The humblest tool in the quality system still needs a certificate when the auditor asks.

ACS Calibration delivers NIST-traceable, audit-ready ruler and steel rule services, available at the ACS central lab or directly on-site at facilities across the Southeast. Calipers, micrometers, height gages, and indicators are all on our accredited dimensional scope, so ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificates are available on request.

Dimensional Instruments We Calibrate

If it measures in thousandths — or tenths of thousandths — we can almost certainly handle it.

Frequently serviced brands: Mitutoyo, Starrett, Fowler, Precision Brand, SPI, and Insize — plus dozens more.

Accredited Dimensional Capability

These ranges appear on our PJLA scope of accreditation — verify it independently anytime. Rulers to 40 in, cylindrical plugs and pins to 1 in, feeler and thickness gages to 0.5 in, and optical comparator X–Y linearity are also on scope. Calibrations are performed against gage blocks and reference standards in our climate-controlled laboratory.

Why It Matters

Yes, Rulers Too

Steel rules, rulers, and scales get used for layout, quick checks, and any measurement where “close” is officially good enough — but if a rule is referenced in inspection records, your quality system owes it a calibration status. Worn ends, bent stock, and out-of-spec graduations are all real findings on real audits.

We calibrate rulers and steel rules up to 40 inches under our accredited dimensional scope, verifying graduations against reference standards with documented as-found data. Batch the drawer with your calipers and feeler gages for one due date across the small tools.

Deliverables

What You Get With Every Calibration

  • NIST-traceable calibration certificate with real measurement data — not just a pass/fail sticker
  • As-found and as-left readings, so drift is documented
  • ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificate with reported uncertainty — on request
  • Calibration label with due date, plus a reminder before your next calibration is due
