Speed Is a Measurement, Not an Estimate
Tachometers check motor speeds after VFD changes, verify spindle RPM against the machining program, confirm conveyor and mixer speeds that recipes depend on. Contact wheels wear and slip, optical sensors mistrigger on marginal reflective targets, and strobe units drift — each failure mode nudging a number that maintenance and production both treat as fact.
We calibrate tachometers under our accredited scope from 60 to 99,900 rpm — contact and non-contact — against reference rotational sources, at multiple speeds with as-found and as-left readings on the certificate.
The speed chain usually has more links: panel RPM indicators, speed indicators, and in the lab, centrifuges whose rotor speed is a compliance item. One shipment or one onsite visit covers them all.
