Dial Caliper Calibration Services
No battery to die — just a rack, a pinion, and a needle that has to track true.
ACS Calibration delivers NIST-traceable, audit-ready dial caliper calibration, available at the ACS central lab or directly on-site at facilities across the Southeast. Calipers, micrometers, height gages, and indicators are all on our accredited dimensional scope, so ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificates are available on request.
Mechanical Honesty, Verified
Machinists trust dial calipers precisely because there are no electronics to glitch — but the rack-and-pinion that drives the needle has its own failure mode. One chip lodged in the rack and the pinion jumps a tooth: the caliper still zeroes perfectly and reads a full turn off somewhere mid-range. It is the classic silent error, and it has scrapped a lot of good parts.
We calibrate dial calipers against gage blocks at multiple points across the full travel — exactly the test that catches a jumped tooth, a worn rack, or tip wear on the jaws — with as-found and as-left data on every certificate. Coverage to 40 inches under our accredited dimensional scope.
Digital and vernier siblings are covered on the main caliper page, complete sets can share one due date, and the dial indicators in the same drawer calibrate on the same cycle.
What You Get With Every Calibration
- NIST-traceable calibration certificate with real measurement data — not just a pass/fail sticker
- As-found and as-left readings, so drift is documented
- ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificate with reported uncertainty — on request
- Calibration label with due date, plus a reminder before your next calibration is due
Why Companies Choose ACS for Dial Caliper Calibration
